NESAT Library: Call for Submission of Special Editions and Monographs

As most NESAT members probably know, NESAT owns a small library, which has been under the auspices of Klaus Tidow at Textilmuseum Neumünster since 1981. After Klaus Tidow retired and the old Textilmuseum Neumünster closed down, he entrusted the entire body of the library’s publications to Johanna Banck-Burgess. At that time, the creation of a position in textile archaeology by the Landesamt für Denkmalpflege in Baden-Württemberg in 2004 was in the works. Thus it was decided that the NESAT library should eventually find a new long-term home there. Currently, the library can be visited at the Landesamt für Denkmalpflege in Esslingen. Please make arrangements for your visit by contacting johanna.banck-burgess@rps.bwl.de

To make the library easier accessible to those interested, a digital archiving of the library inventory is scheduled, which will become available at some point in the future. However, at the moment we do not plan to digitalize the actual publications themselves. To update the NESAT library, I kindly ask you to submit special editions and monographs or photocopies of such contributions. Please make sure photocopies are referenced with bibliographical data.

Johanna Banck-Burgess, January 2010

Please note: The last day for submission of topic suggestions for NESAT XI was May 1, 2010.
